Early sun on Mt. Baker, from Artist Point
The northern-most volcano in the Cascade Range, Mt. Baker is skirted with gentle, undulating glaciers around its symmetrical base. This photograph was shot on a cold, clear March morning from my tent on Artist Point.

Kayaking the Sea of Cortez
The eastern Baja coast near Loretto is a mecca for kayakers in the winter. Typically you paddle during the morning before wind and storms brew up in the afternoon. This photo was shot in the evenings as the afternoon storm broke.

The towers of Paine, Patagonia, Chile
At the end of a circumnavigation of the Towers of Paine, Chile I was hiking in a gulch when I noticed the light glowing on the fringes of the clouds above me. I dropped my pack, grabbed my tripod and ran to the top of a nearby hill just in time to snap four or five shots of the mountains reflecting the ebbing rays of the sun.
