Sunset on Mt. Shuksan, Washington Mt. Shuksan is one of the most photographed peaks in the world. A few years ago I was returning from a climb in the Cordillera Blanca. I stayed in a hotel in the picturesque town of Huaraz, Peru. Surrounding the area were Andean peaks stretching beyond 20,000 feet in elevation. Ironically, in the hotel lobby stood a large poster of Mt. Shuksan.
